date 16/7 - 23/7
bought: savers
brand: stoneville saloon
size: medium
price: $3.99
colour: greyish???
why: cheap drinks and lousy food what more could you want? i know! a tee to commemorate the visit
i am unsure of what to call the colour of this tee. not quite white, not quite grey but somehow its just right. there is something about this non descript colour that just yells the exact opposite of spare no expense and there must be something about that that draws me in. perhaps becaues it is in league with one of the founding ideals of one-tee-a-week and that is... that you do not have to spend money to get great fashion. fuck your ed hardy sequins and UV reflective stevie shirts i am a man of morals not labels. if ever i am able to afford a rolex i will buy one, give it to some unsuspecting person and tell them its a fake, then buy a fake rolex and wear that.
that is not to say that all designer labels are bad, but that money does not buy style. it may however pay for a flight to Alzada Montana, and the taxi to the "conveniently located in the middle of nowhere" stoneville saloon where you will find me...
sitting on a bar stool
chatting up waitresses
enjoying cheap drinks
and lousy food
wearing a fake rolex
date 9/7 - 16/7
bought: by Khai
brand: saigon
size: medium
price: a gift from a great man
colour: green machine
why: purchased on Khai's decaucherous tour of the far east from some deep opium den
the material of this tee is such that it allows for almost no stretching at all. an odd sensation to say the least. hand embroidered in the shodiest sweatshops. a piece of textile history to be sure
add to that... there is some weird show about swingers on channel 10
stay tuned for some 'care bear' action in a special one-tee-a-week shirt coming up the next few weeks
peace
date 2/7 - 9/7
bought: killer-lover (online)
brand: killer-lover
size: medium
price: $20.00
colour: black beast of arghhhhhh...
why: because the boys at killer-lover know how to make a tee
who makes the tees that make the girls go wild? anyone and everyone but killer-lover does it better than most. here's a quick story about just how cool they are
problem: i ordered a tee on sale but they didn't have any in stock
answer: they sent me an email that said i could order any tee from the range at no extra cost
this tee would be perfect for wearing to any zombie/horror/monster themed event. like "survival of the dead" the latest George A. Romero zombie film. i highly recommend both buying this tee and watching the movie

date 26/6 - 2/7
bought: Savers
brand: Billy Joel
size: Large
price: $3.99
colour: piano man white
why: because Billy Joel's storm front was the first cd i ever owned. its still a great album
maybe one day i'll write a song about being a tee shirt man, become famous, go on tour and sell tour tees. until then i will have to be content with this - a 1987 billy joel australian tour tee. shit! this tee is older than i am and possibly in better condition too
a few years ago i nearly bought a tee that had kurt cobain's suicide note on it. nearly. but i doubt as he was loading that shotgun did he ever envision someone turning a buck by selling it. maybe its a beautiful tribute to a beautiful artist or maybe it's in poor taste, only made worse by greed. either way it was not worth the risk.
in answer of last weeks question there are two tees that would be per
fect for a wedding. the first is of course the tee from the first week of march (the wedding souvenir tee). as this tee would be impossible to find then the classic tee that looks like you're wearing a tuxedo will more than suffice, you'll look classy, cool, laid back and even get laid all at the same time.
send me your tee for every occasion questions for next week
i hope i have helped, in the world of fashion and the world in general
i hope that the world is a better place than it was last week
i hope that i am somehow a part of that
i hope you found $5 on the floor of a university mens room just like i did
date 19/6 - 26/6
bought: Savers
brand: ?
size: extra smallprice: $2.99
colour: snow white and the seven dwarfs
why: this is the first tee in the collection of 'places that i may have been but forgot to buy a souvenir tee'.
spotted: at 'the warehouse' rave party.
i know that technically singlets are not tees but this one was just so rad i had to include it. it has all that 80's charm and colour scheme that seemingly never goes out of fashion or was never in fashion to begin with. i can never remember quite how it goes.
so this was the rave-iest top i could find, and look how it glows under those sweet UV lights. what do you get when you empty out a warehouse and fill with the following: UV lights, a massive trampoline, projectors and dj's... answer? a wicked party. even though raving is not really my scene it helps to have a tee for every occasion. 'a tee for every occasion' sounds like a new segment i should add. people can send me in situations and i can answer them with which tee i would wear in said situation. guess i'd have to get people to read this thing first...
so send me your occasion and i will send you an answer.
as always i am your host and fashion guru
letting YOU the people know what is cool
date 12/6 - 19/6
bought: Savers
brand: element
size: small x 2price: $4.99 x 2
colour: danny green and gordon brown
why: maybe avril lavigne will like me
this week is a double header, with two! thats right TWO tees. simple in design, simple in colour and yeh i guess i'm still just a skater boi (she said see ya later boi)
soon we will delve into the unknown recesses of my sordid past for clues to my love for tees. it could have much to do with the short lived, unsustainable but oh so fun I Heart Alex tee shirt company. we loved, we lost, we learned... and we live to fight another day
but that my friends is a story for another time. it could be next week or the week after or really anytime from here on in, so please remain courageously seated because the best is still to come
date 5/6 - 12/6
bought: Savers
brand: penguin/bonds
size: smallprice: $5.99
colour: eiffle 65
why: its that cute little penguin, gets me everytime
do polo's count as tee's? i think they kinda do, for the purposes of my blog lets just yes.
as we head on past the equator of one-tee-a-week on our way ever higher we take time to reminisce about how we got here. why it is tee's that have chosen to dominate my wardrobe, my waking moments, the withdrawals from my bank account.
why is there a repetition of blue, this shade of blue and many blues like it in the history of my tee shirt collection. i am told that the colour suits me, but what does that mean? does it matches my complexion? does it bring out my eyes? is there some sort of scientific reason? for that matter i wonder if there is a reason for why i want more and more tee's maybe the reason is psychological. maybe there is something wrong with me? or maybe there is something wrong with everyone else out there who doesn't love tee's...
yeh...
its definitely not me
